Getting started
How do I get an account?
Head to Request access and fill in your university email, institution, and department. A real human validates the request — usually within one business day. If you're in the invite-only Gold cohort, your account activates as Gold on first sign-in.
What is early-access Gold?
The first cohort of invited faculty gets a Gold account — unlimited modules, unlimited quizzes, unlimited conferences and events — free for two years. Invite three colleagues from your dashboard and they get Gold too. Full details on the early-access page.
Do my students need to install anything?
No. The attendance page runs in any modern browser on any device. Students scan the QR code — or type the URL if scanning fails — search for their name, and confirm with their student ID. That's the whole interaction.
How much does it cost?
Free forever for 3 modules with 3 quizzes each and the unlimited meeting scheduler. When you outgrow that, top up credits (from €10). See the pricing page for the full breakdown, including the 75%-off subsidised plan for institutions in developing countries.
Attendance & anti-cheat
What stops a student from marking a friend present?
Three layers. First, they must type the roster-stored student ID (not just click a name from a list). Second, a per-device cookie blocks a second mark from the same browser. Third, you can set a time window and a password. It isn't bulletproof — nothing free is — but it is dramatically better than passing paper around a lecture hall.
Can I mark someone present manually?
Yes — if a student had a dead phone, no signal, or a genuine medical reason, you can override any cell on the attendance grid from your dashboard. Overrides are logged so there is always an audit trail.
Does it work if the classroom Wi-Fi is bad?
Students only need enough connectivity to load one page and submit one form. Even 3G is plenty. If a specific device fails, they can retry after class ends — until you close the time window.
Data, LMS & privacy
What if my university already uses Blackboard / Moodle / Canvas?
Use this alongside your LMS. Nothing you build here interferes with your LMS setup — you can import the roster from your LMS, take attendance here, then export CSV back to the LMS gradebook. No integration required; no permission needed from IT.
Can I export my data?
Yes — every module, quiz, and event exports to CSV, Excel, and PDF with one click. Import the CSV into your gradebook, spreadsheet, or LMS. Your data is yours and you are never locked in.
Where is my data stored?
Cloudflare (Workers, edge) for serving, Supabase (Postgres, EU region) for storage, Resend for the transactional emails we send you and your students. Nothing is sold or shared with advertisers, and rosters never train an AI.
Is it GDPR compliant?
Yes — we collect only what is required to run your account and take attendance, store it in the EU, and let you export or delete everything at any time. Full details on the privacy page.
Billing & credits
What happens when I run out of credits?
Nothing you already created stops working. Existing modules keep taking attendance, existing quizzes keep running, existing exports keep exporting. You just can't create a new module or quiz until you top up.
Do credits expire?
Activated credit packs run for six months. Signup grants and campaign credits do not expire.
Can I get an invoice for my finance department?
Yes — institutional purchases of 50+ credits qualify for a proper invoice with your organisation's billing details. Request it from your dashboard after your first top-up.
Other
Is there a mobile app?
No — and there won't be. The whole point of a URL and a QR is that it works on every phone with a browser without an install. The lecturer dashboard is fully responsive and works on tablets and phones too.
Do you have an API?
Gold accounts get a read-only JSON API for pulling attendance and quiz results into external systems. Public API for other tiers is on the roadmap.
Can I use this for corporate training or CPD?
Yes — the conference/event feature is designed for exactly this. Delegate rosters, QR check-in, custom feedback forms, and full export at the end of the day.
